Impatience is a life changer! It led humans from stone age to super-computer age, from horses to Buggatis and even compelled people from Nokia to Apple.

Now comes the online retailer’s turn to serve for the impatience in the people.

Amazon, one of the leading retailer of the world in the e-market, known for their innovative and unconventional outlook, has recently announced about their research and development on drones which could be their next medium of delivery of goods.

After the introduction of Amazon prime, the two day expedite delivery system in 2005, Amazon has been experimenting with the same day delivery system.

Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon.com has announced about their new Amazon Prime Air which ensures to deliver the goods (weighing up to five pounds) to the customers with in 30 min from the time of order with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) or drones in near future.

 

 

 

UAV’s:

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) also known as drone,is an aircraft without pilot on board. Its flight is either controlled by the computer present inside the vehicle or by the remote control of pilot on ground. Till now these aircrafts served the purpose of military and special operations.

 

GLOBAL EFFECT:

The announcement from Jeff Bezos, about the development of these aircrafts for the commercial purpose ,has triggered an alarm in many retail and transportation businesses.

United Parcel Service (UPS) of North America one of the American global package delivery company has announced its own drone program in only one day after the announcement of Jeff Bezos.

DHL- the world’s leading mail and logistics group has also announced regarding their experiments on the drones.

Mean while YO! SUSHI restaurant in London even took a step forward and introduced drones to serve pizzas and pastas to their customer.

As far as 2013 is concerned the technological advancement so far has made the world literally a global village. Large online retailers across the world are investing millions of dollars in R&D to come up with various innovative ways to satisfy the customer. A decade from now, a day will come when people then will laugh at us now for having waited for a day or two to receive a delivery.
