Greetings readers!

The team of kMITRA wishes you all a Happy New Year!

Its been a while since we last met. December has been one eventful month! The beginning of the month had students giving their examinations and completely feeling the pressure. On a merrier note, December also brought along the ever awaited holidays and festivities. A few days later, here we are, with a new year, a new set of opportunities ahead of us. We hope this year is the one you’ve all been waiting for.

A new year, for some of us comes with a set of resolutions. Well, it is said that resolutions are made only to be broken but I have a special sense of respect for those who actually abide by their resolutions. Apart from resolutions, there are some traditions which are followed across the world so as to have a prosperous year. Abhay in his article Crazy New Year Traditions, tells us how some of these traditions are a little too unusual.

Mahathi talks about Sankramana, giving us some wonderful facts about the festival Sankranti. Vaishnavi’s Pictures and Popcorn gives all you movie lovers a heads up about some of the most awaited releases of 2019.

The world has lost some of its gems in the past year and as a tribute, Shivani’s article is dedicated to The Lost Stars of 2018. While you may shed a tear or two after going through that, we have Sravya giving us a gist of all the great things that happened to the world in 2018 as she describes, 2018 in innovation.

India has seen some huge victories in the field of Sports and Suraj’s India’s Sporting Triumphs – 2018 is a reminiscence of the same.

Bringing you the best from their mighty bag of creativity, we have Pratish’s article about The King of Dance and a beautifully wriiten story called Told you so by Radhika. Last but not least, we have Bharath’s A tribute to the Idea Man, a tribute to the world famous billionaire, Paul Allen.

Well, this edition is both an educative and entertaining one. Hoping you enjoy your read and we look forward to our next meet!
