For all the movie lovers out there, it was the best night (technically early morning for us) of the year.

Why?

because,

It was Oscars!

Awards come and awards go, but nothing can ever beat the Oscars! The 87th Academy Awards hosted in the Dolby theater in Hollywood was the usual star studded extravaganza and we were left speechless on seeing the celebrities.

Full-length gowns, daring necklines, dramatic trains – the Oscars red carpet had it all.

Stars in a rainbow of colours and a myriad of styles posed for the world’s press before making their way into the Dolby Theatre.

From bold lips, to strong brows, the stars brought their A-game to the red carpet.

We saw a whole lot of head-turning outfits on the Oscars red carpet this year. From Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent to Lady Gaga in Azzedine Alaia, celebrities clearly made an effort and some of their looks really won the show.

We present to you the BEST DRESSED of the Oscars.

1.EMMA STONE

Emma Stone was stunning in her Elie Saab Haute Couture dress and Tiffany Blue Book Collection jewelry. Although the long sleek gown looked conservative there was a leg slit and an open back to edge it up. Her signature red locks were swept to one side in Hollywood waves and she donned an orange lipstick that popped out the colour of the dress. With the perfect combo of ‘Sexy and Classy’,the Birdman star never fails to impress us.

2. ROSAMUND PIKE

Rosamund Pike chose a strapless, embroidered red Givenchy Haute Couture gown for her red carpet look. The strapless neckline and the lace overlay flows with her curves. Plus, the high slit and the satin detailing at the midsection accentuates her waist. And, the blonde locks were styled to perfection in a ballerina bun!

3. Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie wore a Saint Laurent black, long sleeve gown with a plunging neck top and Van cleef & Arpels necklace. With the deep V neck, the sheer hands and $1.5 million statement necklace,Margot, looked absolutely stunning. The slightly mussed hair and the bold lip gave the look an extra boost to set the red carpet on fire. Turn.It.Up.That dress, that lip,and that necklace!

4. Jennifer Lopez

87th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

JLo wore a flowing Elie Saab champagne coloured gown,Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, Neil Lane jewels, and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and looked drop-dead gorgeous. The gown was absolutely exquisite with layers upon layers of champagne coloured embellishments that billowed into a gorgeous train. She sported her classic deep V neck and finished of her look with a high ponytail and a pop of pink on her lips.

5. Anna Kendrick

Anna chose a coral-peach Tycoon gown with a cut out in the front and back, there was a fun weaving at the neckline and it looked as if the dress was made especially for her body. Her choice of the earrings matched with the neckline of the gown and complimented the look perfectly. Her makeup was kept simple with a nude lip and smokey eye,and her up-swept hair was tousled and youthful and brought out her beautiful face. She not only killed it on the red carpet but also stole the show with her opening monologue with Neil Patrick Harris and Jack Black.

6.Dakota Johnson

Dakota was an absolute stunner with her asymmetrical Saint Laurent dress. The colour perfectly complimented her skin tone and shoulder detailing was totally unique,it looked like a rope of bling hanging off her shoulder and the sweet-heart cut with the side slit was undoubtedly perfect for her. The red lip and simply styled hair kept her look very modern.(50 shades of Hot?!)

Coming to the Gentlemen, from the classic Tux to the experimental accessory we’ve got it all.

1. Eddie Redmayne

Eddie looked striking in the Tuxedo by Alexander Mcqueen. The actor wore a navy blue tuxedo and a black bow-tie to the event. With that dimpled grin, steady eyes and a great deal of talent,I think it’s safe to say he totally deserved that Oscar!

2. Ansel Elgort

Ansel chose a navy blue and black tuxedo by Prada for this red carpet look. ‘The fault in our stars’ star sure did not make any flaw this time.

3. Tim Mcgraw

Mcgraw looked almost unrecognizable without his cowboy hat,but the country singer sure made it to our best dressed list in his Lavin Tuxedo. He also performed “I’m not going to miss you” (That voice though.)

4. Benedict Cumberbatch

And, we saved the best for the last,Benedict wowed us in a white ensemble and a black bow-tie at the red carpet. With a jaw line that could cut glass and an extremely photogenic face, the actor took over the red carpet.Well,he might play Sherlock on screen but he did look James Bond on the red carpet.
