Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -Book Review

The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy,is not just one of those books you read…
Its one of those books that you fall in love with, get obsessed with, repeat all the arguments in your head, thoroughly masticate and digest every idea in the book while enjoying the delightfully whimsical yet beautifully crafted novel that it is…

Although I am a huge fan of Zooey Deschanel (partly because of her name…),I must say that the movie did not come close to the brilliance it took to write the book, but movies rarely do…
The plot is so amazingly twisted that you cannot help but fall in love with every character in it.
We’ve got Arthur Dent, who is a scared ape-descendant (Hitchhiker talk for Homo Sapien)who finds himself in a particularly unfortunate set of circumstances,or fortunate depending on whether you are a glass half empty or glass half full person…
His planet,Earth has been destroyed but he is saved by his alien friend (Ford Prefect) who tells him of the universe he isn’t aware of,and his database is the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy which is not like any other compendium like the Encyclopedia Galactica, but is actually a very interesting and useful book, rather a travel guide for hitchhikers, and after reading this book you might like to pretend that your e-reader may be one in disguise,or so you may wish…
Zaphod Beeblebrox is one hoopy frood…
He is on a mission to find the ultimate question to the ultimate answer that is “42”,what he and Arthur along with Trillian and Ford find out instead is so incredible, you might just want to believe it yourself…
Humans are the third most intelligent beings, the first and second species will tickle your funny bone…
And I must mention the utterly miserable and extremely intelligent robot-Marvin…
He has the perfect amount of sassiness I would expect of a robot with GPP,Genuine people personality…
What stood out the most for me were the following lines-

“All through my life I’ve had this strange unaccountable feeling that something was going on in the world, something big, even sinister, and no one would tell me what it was.”
“No,” said the old man, “that’s just perfectly normal paranoia. Everyone in the Universe has that.”

Vogons are delightful creatures who will read you beautiful poetry whilst saving you and your planet from its impending doom…-and thats a lie…
Of Course you would have to read the book to find out whether I can be trusted, which is my intention ,for anybody in their right mind,i.e. science fiction lovers will immerse themselves in this beautiful novel in a tiny earth second.
“Resistance is useless” 🙂
I hope this doesn’t reflect too badly on my credibility…
If you are going to read the book,I assure you that I will read and write reviews for the rest in the series, the next being The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe…
I think this is getting bigger than Harry Potter…
I must stop for I see myself in the peril of being lynched by the HP fan club…
Till then “Don’t Panic”!
