Trishul is an initiative of KMIT where Industry oriented state of the art programs like Android, iPhone, Cloud Computing, Kinect Programming, Cadence, Embedded Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Content Management System, Parallel Programming, etc., are taught to the students apart from the regular JNTUH subjects.

Research & Development Lab
Specialized labs created to facilitate students to learn new technologies like CADENCE, Wizards of Wireless, Bluetooth, Xilinx, Adobe, Motorola, etc., These are not part of regular JNTU syllabus.

Google Summer of Code
It is a global program that offers student developers stipend to write code for various open source software projects. Eighteen students of KMIT (2 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 6 in 2012 & 6 in 2012) were selected for this program so far. Each is entitled for a stipend of US $5000 (Approx. Rs. 2,50,000/-). KMIT is one of the few colleges in India to achieve this distinction.

KMIT Team has won the First Prize in National Level TGMC Competition conducted by IBM for the year 2011-12. IBM has rated KMIT as one among the top 30 institutions of India under The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) program. 80 students got DB2 Certification awarded by IBM. 20 students got SCJP Certification awarded by SUN.

Project Sakshat
KMIT e-learning initiatives have received National recognition from the Ministry of HRD. KMIT is now a designated content creator & has won 3 projects as part of project Sakshat (India's E-learning portal for higher education)
Formerly known as "Vipasana", kMITRA is the revamped monthly, online college magazine. It is a student initiative wherein everything from writing to web design is taken care of by the students. Visit kMITRA
