Aiming or goal orientation is one very important part of every individual’s life. We never know if we land in the forest or an empty island when we don’t have a final destination. We cannot afford to stop at different stations and go around then it will be too late to realize that the train has already left. It’s like groping around in the dark for a torch. Having a aim in life is like a new beginning. It gives you hope of doing something new and moving in the right direction regardless of what you may have done before. It pops up every time you think of future and makes you feel responsible for your own life.

Every man alive, someday has to know that his life is worth something. That someday, he has to bring about change in himself and follow the path, however rough or smooth to grab the fruits of his hard work. From  that day man looks at things differently, does his work differently, the difference being the thought that anything he does to an end, will lead him to success.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”

–      Tony Robbins.

Life might take us through any kind of miseries, tragedies, too many happy moments. Where we end up is the test. The result here totally depends on how we deal with our lives. A man who says he will never drive after he met with an accident can never drive to his destination. He quits his journey to success there and can never pass in the test life gives him.

How do you set your goal? All of this depends on what you want to do with your life, among what kind of people you want to be, and how much recognition you need. A caterpillar is not given recognition until it morphs into a beautiful butterfly. It is in our hands to decide whether we want to be the caterpillar behind- the- scenes or the beautiful butterfly. Now, it is not as easy for the little bird, to get out of the egg into the real world.

It is not as easy for you to reach the set-goal. Motivation towards it is the first key-factor. Motivation gives you the stamina to run all the way towards reaching your finish-line. How much motivated you are tells you how serious you are about your goal.

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.”

              –   Jin Kohm.

Discipline, becomes the very next key-factor to achieve your goals. By discipline here, I don’t mean to imply to waking up at 5 a.m. every morning and pray to God to reach your goal, not that there is anything wrong with that. It implies to you leading yourself to your goal from any route possible, without always hoping for a shorter route. A disciplined person is one that has established a goal and is willing to achieve that goal at the expense of his or her individuality.

Hard work is the third key factor for one to achieve their goals. A set-goal needs the energy drink-hard work for the result. Working hard actually comes for free with the motivation and discipline that one has towards his goal. We tend to work harder as we start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel-however dim it may be.

Diana Nyad has shown us a glimpse of what it takes to achieve greatness through hard work and determination.

She also mentions that when she was reaching for the horizon (for the coast line) it all made sense-the hard work the years of practice and that belief in herself that she could do it whatever the circumstances maybe.

It was worth it!

The whole Idea of goal-setting is the most important part of one’s life. Reaching that goal will be the Biggest Achievement, after all, hard work pays its due.
