The Red Devils finally got themselves rid of the albatross around their neck this past Sunday as United crushed Aston Villa to their biggest Premier League defeat of the season.
Moyes’ side kicked off, staring at the chances of a hat-trick of defeats for only the third time in the entire Premier League era. The victory quenched the devils’ thirst for a win, their last glimpse of it coming over a month ago when they beat league leaders Arsenal.
After a decent start by Villa, Welbeck rattled in the rebound for Man Utd as teenage sensation Adnan Januzaj’s header came back off the post in the fifteenth minute. Just minutes later, Welbeck scored yet another to silence the home fans and send the travelling supporters into pandemonium.
Brimming with confidence, Manchester United took control of the second half as Tom Cleverley fired past a hapless Brad Guzan after some good work by Wayne Rooney in the build up just minutes into the second half.
The result brings respite to an under fire David Moyes, who will also be happy to see Darren Fletcher returning after a long injury lay-off.
