What is therefore needed is to create a bank of skilled hands who can be directly absorbed to the industry. Achieving quality standards in employability has fuelled the setting up of the KMIT Finishing School which is one of its kind exclusively for KMITians to make them stand out of crowd helping them in their career path. Having started in 2007, KMIT’s first batch graduated in the year 2011. With the sole objective of producing industry ready engineering students,KMIT has instituted a comprehensive Finishing School program for its Final year students. It is believed that this program will be going a long way in bridging the industry-academia gap that all of us are so well aware of. The Finishing School is run concurrently with the B.Tech course, unlike other Finishing schools which are offered after the completion of B.Tech. The Finishing School program consists of 2 semesters. The first semester of the Finishing School runs concurrently with the 3rd year 2nd semester curriculum of JNTU as described above. The 2nd semester runs concurrently with the 4th Year 1st Semester. The student has a choice to opt for various tracks offered. Students undergo a CUSTOMISED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT (CWD) program according to the needs of a recruiting company. Management of KMIT is expecting an increase in the number of students this year. Students from finishing school can expect a better placement over others. The cherry of this cake is that students are taught soft skills on par with technical skills to balance and to ensure the college motto is realized. “Creating Engineers with a 360 Degree Vision”. The students are selected after an examination in C Language Programming and general aptitude and are interviewed for securing seats into the Finishing School. KMIT Finishing School Experienced a 98% of success in its first 3 batches.
