The case with placements this semester is undeniably magnificent. The smartest batch of the college Finishing School(FS, 2016) have proven themselves commendable with almost 80% students placed in the first-set of recruitment itself! Seeing better results than last year and 10 more companies lined up in October, there could be no students left for the 2nd phase of placements! Both the staff and the students are pleased with themselves and each other.

However, the tuning up of the to-be-jobholders, i.e. building the foundation for the placements is clearly not an easy job. From the directors of the college to the lab assistants, the success can be shared in different proportions to all. The Placements Officer, Mr Sudheer Darga is overwhelmed with the remarkable batch of students. “We have more companies coming, but there are no students left in the FS”, he says laughing. The Assistant Professors, Mr Krishna Subramanyam and Mr B Satyanarayana are always ready to teach any new technology that the companies look for. They are always available for students’ help and are among the most remembered teachers after college.

“As the years pass, we see increase in quality of students and their interest towards the FS.”, they say

. Mr Chaitanya, who takes aptitude classes in the FS is also very impressed with the ‘bright minds’.

The staff had commonly shared with me, as an advice to the next batches,

“KMIT’s strength is the Finishing School and every student must make their full out of it.”

The new recruits are all on cloud-nine and free of stress now. “All our efforts paid off and its all happy-time now”, says Supriya, who got placed in Deloitte. “I felt sad when I couldn’t get through the Deloitte interview but Virtusa came to my rescue, all thanks to the technical skills that we brushed upon in FS”, says Deepika Reddy. The Finishing School is the most thanked courses among students. “Without FS, I don’t think I could be in Virtusa today. We attended FS since 3-2 and followed it, be it weekend tests or aptitude classes, we gave them equal importance.”, says Naga Sowmya.

They all accept they worked hard and quote 3 things for the juniors – “Attend, Follow and Trust the Finishing School throughout.”

with a smile on their faces.

All in all, Thank you KMIT for the Finishing School program and we will be looking forward to bigger goals being reached in upcoming years.
