Tech giant-Google recently got into food delivery and home services businesses by the launch of their new app named AREO, which is basically a platform to order food from the nearby restaurants or arrange appointments with local electricians, painters, cleaners, plumbers and other home services professionals. This is the first time that Google leaped into this food delivery and home services business and they opted to test this revolutionary app in India rather than the US.

Already there are similar applications in Indian market like ZOMATO, SWIGGY  but what makes the Google AREO different from them is the convenience to order food online and workers for day to day home services at the same place. It also features different payment methods like debit card, credit card, net banking, cash on delivery and online wallets like Paytm, PayPal, Mobikwik, etc. To make their services more feasible, Google has partnered with local startups like UrbanClap, Zimmber, FreshMenu, Holachef and Fasoos..etc. which make their services quicker, easier and user-friendly.

It was first aired on Google Play Store on April 12, 2017, while the launch of Google play music monthly subscription. This app is available only for Android users of Mumbai and Bangalore at present and no official reports were announced the complete availability of the app by the Company.

By the launch of this app, Google will give a tough competition to their rival company Facebook which began investing in local home services business in last year. Let us hope that the AREO gets a huge response from the public and the company decides to make that available to all the cities of India, which facilitates us to utilise such wonderful services they provide.
