Here are a few tips that would help you get the perfect look, whether it’s for one of those fun family get-togethers or for a party at your friend’s place. Diwali is a time of happiness and gala. So, the palette for this season is a mix of vibrant hues like rani pinks, peacock blues, lime green and crush orange. It’s all traditional and ethnic that’s in this season, be it the exotic anarkalis, the crystal blouses or the lehengas and saris in chiffon. All of these give you an elegant and a sophisticated feminine look.

Coming to the fabrics, velvet is making a super comeback and georgette is in too. Chiffons, raw silk, lace and net are also trending. However, ensure that you go for pure fabrics as synthetic ones might catch fire easily.

Statement accessories grab the limelight this season.
Necklaces are beady, long and plentiful. Hoops and beads are dangling in the earring category. Gold and kundan jewellery are back in vogue. A little gold goes a long way, so make sure you don’t overdo it.
Footwear like mojris or heels in metallic shades of bronze, gold or silver, would add the Indian touch to the look.

Here are a few options you could never go wrong with:

– Team up a gorgeous crush orange or lime green raw silk bandhini with a flowy gown or a lehenga.

-A pink brocade gown with a hint of sheen or a cream print gown complimented with stunning loop earrings.

– Be a head turner this Diwali with a gorgeous peacock blue net brocade anarkali. A gold clutch and statement earrings complete the look.

– Go classic with a gold and cream anarkali or a lemon yellow lehenga

Hot tip: Keep one item in the overall look grand; let that be a magnificent piece of statement jewellery or an extravagant accessory like a clutch.
