Any festival is a perfect excuse for us to shop to our heart’s content without feeling guilty and Dussehra is no exception since it comes after a long dearth of festivals. Dussehra is a festival that provides you 9 days of golden opportunities to flaunt your opulent style. Now, it is more pertinent than ever for us to know about the latest trends in ethnic fashion.
Dandiya is an intrinsic aspect of Dussehra. Since there are Dandiya Nights coming up too, this article serves a two-fold purpose of helping you pick out outfits for the festive season.
While leading fashion designers have already weighed in what you should wear this Navratri, we have come up with a few choices to help you look sassy yet sophisticated:
Kalidar Dresses with/without Dupattas:
Kalidar dresses end just above the ankles and can be complimented with high heels to make a bold style statement. These dresses come in myriad styles, providing you with a broad range to choose from.
For those who aren’t inclined towards Kalidar dresses, Anarkalis are a convenient alternative and a safe bet. With many tinsel town celebs sporting them, we can safely say that Anarkalis are the vogue now.

Palazzos are all the rage now. They are quite comfy and easy to carry around. They are just right for those who want to score high on the style radar.
Half Sarees and Lehengas:
They are wardrobe staples that you can never go wrong with. Jazz up your Half Saree/Lehenga with jewelry to get a mesmerizing look. They help you look elegant and traditional. They give you exactly what you need to shake your leg on the dance floor. Be Bold and experiment with colors.
Choose an outfit with high collar to highlight long neck. Asymmetric dresses are also in fashion. All the aforementioned attires are comfy and help you get along with all the energetic dance moves set for Dandiya nights.
A bindi adorning your forehead will accentuate your ethnic look. You can experiment with colours and go for vibrant hues like red, yellow, orange or anything colour-coordinating your attire. Pumps are a perfect way to complement your dress. If pumps aren’t your thing, then you can opt for Motifs or Flats.
Bangles are staples when it comes to accessories, so if you want to play it safe, go for them. Dazzling bangles are a must for Dandiya as well because they go well with the well-decorated Dandiya sticks. A classy clutch, simple and elegant necklace, Jhumkas will give you that perfect ethnic look. Smoky eyes with bright coloured Lipstick and hair swept to one side is the look of the season.
Mughal colours like Gold, Green, and Pink embellished with Sequins or embroidery transform your outfit into a regal attire. The color palette of Champagne teamed with Emerald Green is bound to give you a smashing look. Neon colours are in vogue too. Adding a tinge of neon in one’s outfit can completely transform the look. You can do a mix-and-match for your festive look.
Where to buy:
