Make-up is an art. It’s just like painting. Instead of doing it on canvas we do it on our face.

Beauty, to me, is being comfortable in your own skin. But hey,  red lips never hurt anyone!

You need not dip your head in a bucket full of foundation to look pretty. The most important thing about makeup is – its for highlighting not hiding . Granted it can be used to hide a pimple or a blemish but its main purpose is to accentuate your features, make them look more prominent.

Make-up can be an instant boost of confidence (Especially Lipstick). All you need is a freshly washed face, eyeliner,a bit of mascara and lots of color on your lip. There is no concealing, no contouring, nothing here, a little pop of color on your lips makes a whole lot of difference.

And most importantly wear make up for YOU. Put on a red lip if you want to. Spend an hour trying to get that winged eyeliner right only because you enjoy doing it. Have to attend a party, but you just don’t want to take the effort then don’t. Make-up is not about impressing others. For those who truly enjoy doing it, its just plain fun. At the end of the day you have to be that person who can confidently say “I like how I look with or without makeup  — it’s no one else’s business but my own.”

Here are few go-to products thatwill quite nicely fit into your allowance range

1. BB cream / CC cream

BB cream is usually used as a supplant of foundation. BB creams are like lighter foundation with a few skin care benefits thrown in. So, if you want to keep your look quite neutral and natural opt for BB cream instead of foundation. You can try the L’oreal True Match BB cream. It sits quite nicely on the skin and it feels very light as well. It also contains SPF 35 in it.

CC cream is a “color correcting” cream. It is used to cover any redness or blemish on your skin. You can also cheat by using this to get rid of those horrid under eye circles. Lakme CC cream would be good choice as it conceals and evens the tone of the skin,it contains SPF 20 in it and just a pea size amount can be used to get the job done.

2. Eye-Liner and Mascara

They say that eyes are windows to the soul, so it is essential to make your eyes standout. Eye-Liner and Mascara help in bringing out your eyes. When you want to do a smokey eye, keep the rest of the look natural. Use a nude lip and very slight blush and let those eyes do all the talking. And May the wings of your Liner always be even. Mascara gives a boost to those long lashes. Always remember “less is more” when it comes to fashion and makeup. You do not want to go over board or else you will end up looking garish and gaudy.

Lakme’s absolute shine and Revlon’s Colorstay Eye-Liner would be an optimal choice. They last long and help you in mastering the winged eyeliner. Maybelleine Lash Sensational Mascara is hands down the best Mascara I’ve ever used.

3. Lipstick

Maybe it has something to do with my affinity towards red lip but I always stand by the saying “give a girl a red lip and she will rule the world”. Lipsticks are the most cardinal items in any makeup bag. They can bring a little life and a little color in the appearance of anyone.

During the sunny days raid your lipstick collection and make best use of the pinks and oranges. Autumn is best season to try dark colors like purples and burgundys. And Christmas time calls for a Red lip and a Red Lip alone.

Here are few of my go to lipsticks : Mischievous by Revlon (One of the best orange lipsticks out there) , Maybelleine Divine Wine, MAC Ruby Woo and Estee Lauder Kendall Jenner’s Restless(I know its little bit on the pricey range but its worth saving up for)
