School of Electronics

The School of Electronics offers UG programs in Electronics & communication Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. This unifies the faculty, laboratory, computing and other resources from tow independent departments namely Electronics & communication Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering bringing in synergy by way of optimization of resources and higher levels of interaction..

The School of electronics has strong administration, infrastructure and dedicated team of Faculty. The various programs presently offered are of current interest to academia and industry.

The Department has state of art equipments in various laboratories. The Department has faculty members having expertise in wide variety of fields in Instrumentation and Control. The department has a strong industry institution interaction.
In addition to core electronic subjects, software based subjects are also included in the syllabus which makes this course suitable for core electronics and many IT industries.

 B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

This highly popular program trains students in broad areas of Microelectronics, Embedded Systems / SoC, Communication Engineering / Networking, Digital Signal Processing, Fiber Optics & Photonics and Medical Electronics. With the continuous advancements and technological innovations, Electronics and Electronic Communication Engineering is under constant flux, finding applications in all human endeavor. The need of the hour is to keep abreast of the technological advancements happening in the developed countries. Our goal is to provide quality education and up to date information to the students, so that they find place in the fast changing profile of the industry. Besides strong academic input, the students are required to do mini projects and gain hands-on experience with the hardware and the software tools. Visits to industry and expert lectures from academia and industry add another dimension to the teaching learning experience.

 Objectives :

  • To impart up to date technical knowledge and skills and produce well-qualified engineers in areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering, who will make qualitative difference in this field.
  • To inculcate the professional responsibilities to play leadership role along their diverse career paths and develop capability to utilize engineering skills in industry, research centers, and national laboratories and entrepreneurship.
  • To address social and cultural breath demanded of them in the modern society.
 

 B.Tech. (Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering)

At the root of any Science or engineering is an instrument that measures, manipulates, stores that information or controls a process. The extraordinary developments taking place in areas like Communication, Space, Medicine, Defense etc. open up large number of opportunities for engineers specializing in Electronics and Instrumentation. This program aims to produce quality engineers with knowledge of the latest trends and developments that are required for the ongoing technological revolution.

In view of the requirements of the industry and other R & D organizations, the curriculum is designed to give due emphasis on Mathematics, Electronics, (Analog and Digital), Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Transducers, Fiber Optics, Computer Programming, Computer assisted Measurements, and the latest Instrumentation Techniques.

 Objectives :
    • To develop and maintain a program of excellence, which ensures that the graduates possess technical knowledge and skills needed to serve as professional engineers in the rapidly changing field of Electronics and Instrumentation
    • To promote research culture among our students, especially the kind needed by the Indian industries and other R & D organizations, benchmarking the global standards.
