This is an exciting period for the Computer Engineering profession as the rapidly changing technology creates many opportunities and challenges. Department of Computer Science & Engineering is prepared to meet the challenges and is playing a leadership role in shaping the education of the 21st Century by providing unique educational and research opportunities in the forefront of Computer Engineering, Information Technology and their applications.

The School of Computing Sciences offers UG programs in Computer Engineering and Information Technology. This unifies the faculty, laboratory, computing and other resources from tow independent departments namely Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology.
The School has highly qualified and experienced faculty members from well known institutes. The faculty members constantly strive to be abreast of rapid advances by frequently involving in research work and through industry-academia interaction. An innovative and participative model of internal governance and organizational structure is being followed which enhances the scope of career growth and over all faculty development.

The students are focused with the use of conceptual understanding of core domain areas in Computing as well as enhanced programming skills disseminating their analytical abilities. Our aim is to provide our students the lifelong learning and leadership skills that enable them to grow in their professions and advance to positions of responsibility by effective Industry-Institute Interaction.

Short information about the programme & future prospects:

The basic objective of the education of the B. Tech (CSE) / B. Tech (IT) programme is to provide the technical and management knowledge basis for acquiring a wide range of rewarding careers into the rapidly expanding world of Computer Engineering. The students are focused with the use of conceptual understanding of core domain areas in Computing as well as enhanced programming skills disseminating their analytical abilities.

Programme Prospectus:

  1. The programme aids the students begin their careers as programmers, system analysts, software designers and independent business owners. Career opportunities exist in such areas as system software and networking applications, technical writing.
  2. Application areas include forecasting and simulation, advanced database management, decision support and data communications, multimedia systems, computer graphics and gaming applications, object oriented technology and componentware.
  3. The B. Tech (CSE) / B. Tech (IT)  programme is a mix of computer-related hardware and software courses. The computer hardware related courses use microprocessors and microcomputers to introduce standard techniques of programming. The computer software related courses use principles of programming languages and theory of computer science to yield fundamentals of computing. The software related software systems building is achieved through use of set of enterprise automated case tools in the area of analysis, design and testing. This would emphasize on domain knowledge of various areas, which would help the students to build software applications on it.
